I hope everyone is having good success with putting the finishing touches on their projects and presentations for Thursday’s class. We will have a busy class so please be on time to the class.

You should plan on loading your project and presentation onto the front computer before class. You can place your files in a class folder under your team which will be set up. There will be 5 minutes between presentations to change to your project material. Since we are short for time, the time limit will be enforced to be fair to everyone presenting. I will give you a 5 minute warning when you have 5 minutes left. Plan on 10-15 minutes for your presentation and 10-15 minutes for your demo.

Here is the schedule for the class.

9:00 – 9:10 Turn in Presentation Hard Copy

Class Survey / Attendance

9:10 – 9:30 Android / Blackberry platform differences (guest speaker – Richard Kasperowski)

9:35 – 10:05 Team 1

10:10 – 10:40 Team 2

10:45 – 11:15 Team 3

11:20 – 11:50 Team 4

The order of teams to present will be randomly selected at the beginning of class.

Print out your presentation on 8.5×11 paper one slide per page (back and front is fine), staple and make sure the team members names are on the front page.

Project comments and project grades will be sent via email before the 22nd of December.

Here are some things I will be looking for in your presentations and projects:

Presentations:

Do you have a clear one sentence app description?

What is your primary use case?

Who will be using your app and where?

How different is the app from your story board?

Is this going to be a paid for app (if so how much) or free (why)?

What coding hurdles did you have to overcome and how?

What is missing from the app that you would like to add?

Who worked on what pieces from the team?

Does everyone participate in the presentation?

Project / Code:

Does the app function as designed?

Is the navigation laid out well (intuitive) (orientation support)?

Is the app graphically pleasing to the user?

Are there remarks through out the code?

Is the app project well structured? classes, nibs, graphics, MVC, etc.

Do you have an icon and default loading screen for the app?

Have you taken localization into account? Another language is not required but you should have the hooks in place so one could be added easily.

We will be having some guests sit in on the presentations and I look forward to seeing everyone’s final project.

To add your device and create a key we need to add the device UDID to the development account of NEIA with the Apple Developer Program. If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone and would like to be able to attach it and run your code on your phone or touch use UDID Helper or UDID Sender in the app store to send your UDID to me at chudson@aduci.com.

UDID Helper or UDID Sender – search in the app store for UDID and you will find them.

Either app will work and is a free download from the app store. When you launch either one it will ask for the email address to send the UDID to. If you want to try it first send it to yourself. Then send one to me and I will add to the developer account.
